FriluftsByn’s cabins, camping, and tent sites are located right in the middle of the High Coasts highlights. Over the past 10 years, we have built a place that we love to hang out in after the adventures. Here, you’ll find cozy social areas, BBQ spots, a swimming area by the lake, kayak and canoe rentals, free mini-golf, and a small playground for our younger adventurers.

2. Experiences for Everyone

Staying in FriluftsByn isn’t just cozy; it’s also convenient. A lot of the hiking trails start from here, and you can easily walk or cycle to Via Ferrata, Naturum (visitor center), boats to the island Ulvön, High Coast Kayak Center, and much more. Skuleskogen National Park and Nordingrå are just a short drive away, offering even more adventures to explore.

3. Restaurants & Cafes

The cafe Friluftsfiket and the Top Cabin with one of Sweden’s most beautiful views are open during the day. On Wednesdays and Saturdays, the popular Burgers & Beer event takes place in the Inner Courtyard. On Thursdays and Fridays, you can enjoy great food and drinks at Restaurant Vardagsrummet.

Nature, Creativity, and Community.

After working around the world, I longed to come back home to the High Coast. At the same time, I wanted to show the World Heritage Site, which was relatively unknown at the time, to others and create a place where myself, my family, my friends, and fellow outdoor enthusiasts could have as a base for nature experiences, creativity, and community.

The dream was named FriluftsByn, and today, much of it has become a reality thanks to incredible colleagues, landowners, volunteers, and leading outdoor companies.

Throughout the year, we receive visitors from nearby residents to people from all over the world. We have also received several prizes and awards, which is, of course, exciting, but it also makes us a bit nervous. After all, we’re just a bunch of people creating what we ourselves would like to experience.

I hope you drop by – me, Anna, Jossan, Emelie, and all our wonderful summer colleagues will do everything to ensure you have a great time.

FriluftsByn hosts the most delightful summer gatherings on the inner courtyard. Enjoy good food, campfires, and live music. There are two sittings available.

High Coast Hike

25th – 27th August
Experience beautiful nature, immerse yourself in a pleasant atmosphere, learn something new during courses and workshops, all while having plenty of time to relax.

Nature´s Calling

Friluftsfest – High Coasts grand outdoor festival with lectures, sessions, and the opportunity to meet potential employers at “Take the Step to the High Coast”.
